Christmas present turned into Christmas disaster

They sent me a phone without a genuine Apple battery therefore it refused to charge and was useless. Returned the phone and I’m still waiting for a replacement. I usually rave about Verizon but this has been an awful experience. This phone was my son’s Christmas present, his first phone, and he couldn’t even use it because they wanted to be cheap on replacing the part.

Verizon has no Clue. I ordered an in stock older phone on 9/23/24. 11 days later it still hasn’t shipped. Yet they sent me a request to review my purchase. So far not great. This is a Verizon review - not an Apple review - I Have no idea if phone is good or bad - obviously. All the automation in the world can’t fix clueless.

The phone did not work! Screen stayed dark and in all different languages it said hello! You could not shut it off. We took it to Verizon in Fremont they had more turn it! Now we will see how the refund works

It is very similar to my S6 -same size it fits the same case. It works about the same also. The transferring information from the old phone to the new phone did not go well and the geek squad was useless, no help at all. I had to go to a store to get it done.

Condition of Verizon's pre-certified phones

I purchased this pre-owned phone based on Verizon's representation of it as being "Great." Cosmetically, it is in excellent condition; but the battery life is only at 83%, and Apple's threshold for good battery health is 80%. So be aware when buying a pre-owned phone from Verizon that the condition they state only describes how the phone looks. I find that disappointing.

The phone is overall fine - but I was led to believe that the battery life would be more reflective of the device having a new (or mostly new) battery. I still find myself having to charge the device twice daily despite a total of 2 hours of active screen time and minimal data/GPS usage. For reference, my usage has actually decreased since I originally got a new 2020 SE, and my battery usually lasted 1.5-2 days with that new device.

I did not think it was going to be this little I wish I would have gotten a bigger phone. That’s my only down fall and for this being my first I phone I like it

Does the SE have face recognition?
